Final Stats

Riverside, CA - The Saint Mary's baseball team split a two-game series against Oral Roberts at the UC Riverside RBI Tournament with a 10-8 victory on Saturday, March 8. With the win the Gaels improve to 8-9 on the season.

The Gaels scored four runs in the top of the second inning to break a 0-0 tie. Oral Roberts retaliated with a four-run inning of their own, tying the game at four a piece.

ORU broke the tie in the fourth inning to take a 5-4 lead. The Gaels would tie the game in the fifth, before breaking out for five runs in the sixth to walk away with the win.

Starting pitcher Justin Sloan went 1.1 innings, giving up three runs before being saved by Dane Dobrinich. Dobrinich carried the Gaels to earn his third win on the season after holding ORU to two earned runs.

Leading the way offensively today for the Gaels was Nick Conte (3-for-5), Jeff Cunningham (3-for-4), Bryan Byrne (2-for-4) and Adam Bellows (2-for-5). As a team the Gaels collected 15 hits.

The Gaels will finish off the UC Riverside RBI Tournament with they take on the host on Sunday, March 9. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
