This Week In Gaels Baseball: The Saint Mary's Gaels begin the longest homestand of the season tomorrow at 2:00 PM at Louis Guisto Field, against UC Davis. The Gaels then host USF for a three game series starting Friday at 2:00 PM.

Who's Hot: The Gaels as a team are ready for league play with ten players hitting over .300. All ten of those players have seen considerable time for Saint Mary's either starting or coming off the bench. Of those ten the most notable is sophomore left fielder Kyle Jensen. Jensen has had a red hot beginning to the season, starting all 21 games and leads the Gaels with six homeruns. Jensen has the fourth best batting average on the team, going 25-for-67, a .373 batting average. Most amazingly of those 25 hits, 15 are extra base hits. Jensen also leads the team in RBI's with 16.

Saint Mary's Getting Attention: Last week the Gaels received a vote in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers top 30 poll. It is the first time the Gaels have received this type of national attention under Head Coach Jedd Soto.

Who's Hot for the Aggies: Junior OF Ryan Scoma became the first Aggie baseball player to earn Big West Player of the Week, he finished the week batting over .500, tallying 12 hits, 10 runs, five doubles, two homeruns, 13 RBI and slugging over 1.000. In the series against Santa Clara he totaled eight hits, 7 RBI and a three run homerun that gave the Aggies the sweep over the Broncos.

Versus the Aggies: The Gaels won the last meeting against UC Davis in a 4-1 victory at Dobbins Stadium on February 26. The Gaels were victorious on the strength of senior Geoff Byrns and sophomore Anthony Aliotti. Byrns had a triple and a homerun with two RBI's, while Aliotti allowed just two hits in seven complete innings.
