Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's alum Joe Lanza will compete in the 2006 Trump Million Dollar Invitational on Sunday, July 2 from the Trump International Golf Club at Raffles Resort on Canouan Island in the Grenadines. The finals of the Trump Million Dollar Invitational can be scene on ESPN from 1-3 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday.

In what many consider the first major championship of the US Pro Golf Tour, Lanza finished seventh in the 54-hole qualifier, earning him a chance at winning a million dollars. The top 10 finishers from the qualifying event will compete for a $1.6 million purse in a nine-hole shootout.

The golfers will play nine holes, with one golfer eliminated after each hole. The player posting the highest score on each hole will be eliminated. Should two or more players tie for the highest score, they will compete in a skills challenge to determine the player that moves on and which player that will go home. The last player standing will win one million dollars.

If you are unable to watch the original broadcast on July 2, the event will re-air on ESPN2 on July 12, 2006, from 2:30-4:30 Eastern Time.
