5/15/08 Golf Sixth After Opening 2008 NCAA West Regional With 6-Over Round Bremerton, WA - The Saint Mary's men's golf team got off to a good start in the 2008 NCAA West Regional following a 6-over par round of 294. At the par-72, 7,111-yard Gold Mountain Golf Club, SMC used even par rounds of 72 by Mike McRae and Chadd Cocco to get off to a good start in the school's second ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Saint Mary's golf team will compete in the 2008 NCAA Championship in the Western Regional on May 15-17. The tournament will be played at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, WA, which is located about an hour southwest of Seattle. Saint Mary's will be the first team to tee off on Thursday morning. The Gaels' first team time is scheduled for 7 a.m. off the first tee.
Moraga, CA - For the second time in four years, the Saint Mary's men's golf team has been selected to participate in the NCAA Golf Championships, as announced on Monday. The Gaels earned an 18-seed in the 2008 Western Regional, which will take place at the Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton, WA on May 15-17.
