Vincent LeBorgne, who played at number-three singles, extended his singles winning streak to 10 after posting a straight sets 6-1, 7-5 win over Borchard. Adam Fauvre, playing at number five, was also a straight sets winner (6-4, 7-5) over Colby Jager to give the Gaels three points in the match.

After Portland's Peter Miskovic and Thabani Sithole posted singles wins at the number four and number six positions, the Pilots had the match to 3-2 with two matches remaining at the top two spots. The final two remaining matches went to a third set and Portland had three game leads in the third set of both matches.

The team match was decided when SMC's Martin Marechal posted a 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) win at the number two position. Marechal came back from a 3-0 deficit in the third set to pull out his fourth straight win at number two, and seventh straight win overall. Andre Sion, the Gaels' number one player, trailed 4-1 in the third set in his match before posting a 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 win over Borvanov.

Saint Mary's will return to the courts when it travels to Los Angeles, CA to take on the Loyola Marymount Lions in a pivotal WCC match on Monday, April 5. That match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
