Moraga, CA- Saint Mary's head women's basketball coach Paul Thomas announced the signing of Louella Tomlinson (Melbourne, Australia) for next season. Tomlinson becomes the third player inked by Thomas and his staff for the upcoming year.

Tomlinson brings height and versatility to the Gaels squad. The 6-4 guard-forward can play nearly every position on the floor and is an impact player on both ends.

"We are very excited to have Louella join our program," Thomas said. "With her height and skills she possesses, Louella will be a great addition that will make an immediate impact."

Tomlinson played for the AIS in the Women's National Basketball League where she garnered the block award by pacing the league with 51 blocks for a 2.7 per game average.

The 6-4 Melbourne, Australia native was the fifth member of her family to suit up for a WNBL squad. Her mother and all three sisters played in the league while her sister Samantha is ranked ninth in the annals in all-time blocked shots.

For the Under-20 National Team, Tomlinson averaged 7.8 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and shot 42 percent from the floor in six international contests.

Tomlinson comes from Lake Ginniderra College where she was named to the All-Australian Team all four seasons. She was the league MVP in the Victorian Championships.

Tomlinson joins Suzie Davis (Oxnard, CA) and Leanna Richey (Brentwood, CA) in the 2007-08 class.
