Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's Director of Athletics Mark Orr announced today the hiring of Lauren Uhr as the new head women's lacrosse coach at Saint Mary's College. Uhr becomes the fourth head coach in the program's seven-year history.

"We are excited to add a quality coach like Lauren Uhr to the Saint Mary's staff," Orr said. "We are looking forward to building a solid lacrosse program and can't wait to get started."

Uhr joins Saint Mary's after serving as head women's lacrosse coach at Claremont McKenna College for the past four seasons.

Under Uhr at Claremont McKenna, her team went 34-13 the last three seasons. She has coached the Southwest Pacific Regional Team over that time and was a member of the Regional National Team from 2004-06.

Prior to coaching at Claremont McKenna, Uhr was the assistant women's lacrosse and soccer coach at Limestone College in South Carolina.

Uhr received her bachelor's degree in Marketing and Information Systems from Fairfield University. While at Fairfield, Uhr was a member of the Division I lacrosse team and received several awards, including Regional All-American, Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors.
