Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's College head women's rowing coach Pasha Spencer announced Courtney Haase as the assistant coach for the women's rowing program. Haase will serve as the head coach for the novice rowing team while assisting Spencer with the varsity squad. Haase's tenure at SMC began on Monday, August 30.

"Courtney has already proved herself as an ambitious and successful student-athlete," said Spencer. "Her rowing experience and incentive will be a driving force to the competitiveness of the team this year."

Haase comes to Saint Mary's from Gonzaga University where she was a four-year letterwinner on the women's rowing team as the coxswain for the varsity-eight boat the past three seasons. During her time at GU, she led the Bulldogs to three varsity-8 West Coast Conference championships, was a member of four WCC Rowing Championship teams, earned All-WCC accolades twice, and was a member of the All-Western Intercolligiate Rowing Association First Team.

Haase graduated from Gonzaga in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in History. Additionally, she attended the US Rowing Midwest Development Camp in Madison, Wisconsin, during summer of 2002.
