Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's College women's rowing team will begin its 2006-07 season at the Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday afternoon. Saint Mary's will compete in the women's championship eight competition, which features 46 teams from across the country. The start of the women's championships eight is scheduled for 4:26 eastern time.

When Saint Mary's takes the water on Sunday, it will have a new coxswain for the first time in three years. Sophomore Amber Oosman will take over for Amy Bellman as the driver for the SMC varsity eight boat. SMC's varsity eight rowers will have one senior in the boat, and that of three-year letter winner Lindsey Anderson. Joining Anderson in the boat will be seven second-year rowers in Ally Oldfield, Jennifer Tyndall, Sierra Timmer, Sunsie Haro, Sandra Pichelli, Jennifer Morrison and Whitney Medved.
