Santa Clara, CA - The Saint Mary's women's soccer team concluded its 2007 season with a 3-0 loss to the Santa Clara Broncos on Saturday afternoon from Buck Shaw Stadium. The Gaels finish their season with a 6-11-2 overall record and a 0-7 record against West Coast Conference competition. Santa Clara finishes its regular season with a 12-5-3 record, while posting a 4-3 conference mark.

Saint Mary's held off a flurry of shots by the Broncos, before allowing all three goals to Santa Clara in less than a minute. With the scored even at 0-0, the Broncos scored three goals in 38 seconds late in the first half. Santa Clara scored its first goal at 35:26, netted its second at 35:56, and then capped its scoring just eight seconds later at the 36:04 mark.

Santa Clara's first goal was the first of two scores by Kendall Doherty. Doherty's first goal came off a throw in into the center of the box from Kiki Bosio. Thirty seconds later, Doherty scored again, this time beating SMC goalkeeper Cari Makino high. The third and final score of the game came just eight second later when Meagan Snell cleaned up a scramble in front of the Gaels goal.

Allie Weiner, who finished her sophomore season with 18 points on six goals and six assists, had four of SMC's six shots in the game. The Gaels were out shot 21-6 and the Broncos had four corner kicks to zero by Saint Mary's. Doherty and Bosio led all players with five shots in the game.
