Seattle, WA- Saint Mary's sophomore Bronwyn Russell (Greenbank, WA) garnered Pacific Coast Softball Conference accolades as announced by the conference office. The second baseman was named to the PCSC All-conference second team. This marks the second straight year that Russell has earned the recognition, in 2005 she was named Freshman of the Year.

Russell finished her 2006 softball campaign in impressive fashion, placing second in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference with a .394 average on the season while batting .368 in PCSC games. She started 46 games on the season despite suffering an injury in game two against Sacramento State on April 29. She led the Gaels with 20 runs scored on the year and eight doubles from the plate. She also tallied a team-leading 66 total bases and a .482 slugging percentage on the season. Her two triples and 54 total hits also led the team, as well as her 10 stolen bases.

In PCSC play she totaled a team-high two doubles and 18 total bases while being tied for first on the team with five runs scored. She finished conference games with a .474 slugging percentage and 14 total hits. She also held the top spot for stolen bases, with four in PCSC action.

Russell tallied fifteen multi-hit games on the season with five where she tallied three hits and one against North Texas on March 31 where she finished with a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles. On February 15, she was 3-for-3 with two runs scored against San Jose State. She was also 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored against Portland State on April 9. On April 19 she went 2-for-4 in a non-conference game against Stanford.
