5/12/08 Softball Garners Multiple Awards in PCSC Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's softball team had six players named to the Pacific Coast Softball All-Conference teams, including seniors Bronwyn Russell and Molly Bergeson to the first team. Also racking in the all-conference accolades were Megan Galloway and Sadie Dolcini to the second team, and Maryanne Cronin and Sandra Ruezga to the honorable mention squad. The six players mark the most recognized in one season in Saint Mary's program history.
Moraga, CA - Senior Bronwyn Russell was named to the CoSIDA District 8 Academic All-American First Team for the second straight year. The infielder was the only member of the Pacific Coast Softball Conference that earned the award, as Russell has accumulated a 3.91 GPA, while studying Health Science at Saint Mary's.
Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's softball team was unable to clinch the conference title this weekend, but they did manage to split with Loyola Marymount in their final double-header, winning the first in thrilling fashion, 8-7, and just barely dropping the second, 8-6. Five Gael seniors made the last appearances of their careers, as they combined for 11 hits and 10 runs.
