Santa Clara, CA - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team suffered a 4-1 loss to No. 1 Pepperdine on Saturday afternoon in the second round of the West Coast Conference tennis championships held at Santa Clara.

The No. 5 seeded Gaels beat No. 4 San Francisco on Friday to get to Saturday's match. Saint Mary's will face the San Diego/Loyola Marymount loser on Sunday in the third place match at Santa Clara.

Saint Mary's won the doubles point after Jessica Hoath and Aude Lambert won their match 8-4 and Stef Ordoveza and Erin Young won 8-1.

In singles action the Waves swept the Gaels in four matches, leading to the conclusion of the match.
